1) How do I know when my air ducts need cleaning?
A. If you have a new or older home and the Air Duct system has never been professionally cleaned they need cleaning. If they have been cleaned and you are not sure they were done correctly they need to be cleaned. If you have children, pets or smoking in the home and it has been more than three years they need to be cleaned. If your home only has two adults, no dogs, no cats, no smoking or children every 5 years is suggested. If you have to replace your filter sooner than three months the system needs to be cleaned. If you want the peace of mind of clean, healthy air in your home clean your system as suggested.
2) How often should I get my air ducts cleaned? And how often should I replace my filter?
A. Your furnace filters should be replaced every 3 to 6 months or sooner. An easy check is to remove the filter from the furnace and hold it up to sunlight or a light bulb, if you feel the light is being restricted you should replace the filter. Filters come in Good, Better, Best filtration. We Recommend Better during the summer A/C season and Best during the winter heating season. Your home air ventilation ducts and furnace should be professionally cleaned every three to five years.
3) How long have you been in business?
A. Healthy Home Services has been in business since 1989, we have been cleaning Air Duct systems since the year 2000. There are many new companies springing up all the time. It takes years of experience to gather all the knowledge needed to know how you’re a/c system is designed, and how to clean it correctly. Not all new companies have these skills.
4) Are you properly insured with liability and workmen's comp?
A. Yes, Healthy Home Services carries all the required insurances, business liability, business auto and workers compensation. This is to protect you the home owner. If someone is hurt on their way to your home or in your home while working you could be held liable. Many new companies cut this expense or hire sub-contractors so they can run lower bait and switch pricing. Ask your vendor to show you their proof of insurance.
5) What type of equipment do you use?
A. At Healthy Home Services we use only the most power-full gasoline driven vacuum’s and air scrubbers. We do not use the lower-powered electric shop-vac styled equipment. Other companies use these because the cost of equipment is less. If they plug their equipment into the wall socket in your home it is not strong enough to clean the whole air system. Electric systems typically draw 350-450 cubic feet per minute in vacuum. Our gasoline powered systems draw 8,000 cfm, along with 200 psi air pressure for scrubbing the individual vent tubes.

6) Is your equipment HEPA equipped?
A. If you are cleaning with low-powered electric systems that exhaust the air in the home it must have a new HEPA filter in it. This filter is designed to remove the smallest particulates of dust. Our system is designed to exhaust all dust particles out-side of the home in a large cotton collection bag.
7) What training have you had in air duct cleaning?
A. Healthy Home Services has been cleaning residential furnace and air systems correctly since 2000. With 1000’s of systems cleaned we know what we are doing. Steven, Don’s son, is the lead technician on our team. Ask the companies that you are interviewing how many homes their lead technicians have cleaned in the past year and how long they have worked for their company.
8) Will a trained lead technician be on the job site at all times?
A. Yes, Steven or Don will be at your home for each cleaning. With most companies having rapid employee turn-over in their staff it is nice to know that we have employees that have the experience and knowledge to do the job correctly
9) What is your Guarantee?
A. Most companies will always tell you how great their guarantee is, but can they back it up? Our guarantee is simple… You will receive “The Most Thorough Cleaning Ever, or it is Free” We started out with this guarantee in 1989 and still have it. Another way to check out a company guarantee is by reading their reviews on Google, Nextdoor or Angie’s List. Reading company reviews on one or all of these web sites will let you see what other home owners are saying.
Remember, “A Clean Home is a Healthy Home”.
